People have been asking quite a bit, so more of these emails will focus on how personality type and attraction.
Ergo, it makes sense to start with the types that started the “attraction industry”: the ISTP and INTP.
These types, particularly the INTP, are the types that created Pick Up.
And they remain the ones that carry the water for that corner of the ‘sphere today.
It might seem strange to you that I can make such a blanket statement. But I’ve worked with and observed enough guys to see the patterns clearly.
These personalities are drawn to Pick Up because Pick Up meshes with their cognitive profile.
It was designed by such types, for such types.
And thus turns off (or traps) many other types.
Here’s why:
Both the ISTP and the INTP are Ti (introverted thinking) dominants, and Fe (introverted feeling) inferiors.
This means these guys think almost entirely in logical systems and have a hard time experiencing emotions.
They are very gifted in sequential reasoning, and very poor in social intelligence.
Which ordinarily means they won’t be very good with women.
(Especially the INTP, who is not only logical but abstract, which makes them come across weird)
But Pick Up provides them with a logical set of “training wheels” to “learn” how to interact with women.
A system.
A script.
And it’s the outsized influence of these types which has defined the male-centric attraction industry today.
(The female side has also been influenced by certain types… but we’ll talk about them another time)
Anyway, the problem for these guys is that human interaction is more than a logical sequence of verbal exchanges. Or at least, it is when you get anything meaningful out of it.
You can systematize your way into sleeping with women in general, but you can’t create a system that will help you connect with them.
You can FAKE connection through routines, but even if you trick her you won’t trick yourself.
And so you’ll remain constantly at arms length from others.
The benefits of these types is that they can usually plow through rejection after rejection because they are less in tune with other people’s emotions (and thus interpret these rejections as simply programming failures, rather than personal injuries).
And, they are very very good at determining what is effective and what isn’t, and then organizing it into a framework.
But even aside from their weakness at reading others’ emotions, they have an even deeper problem.
One that takes a serious commitment to solve.
They are disconnected from their own emotions and values.
Fe (extroverted feeling) is their inferior. But Fi (introverted feeling) is their demon… aka the most unconscious part of their mind.
Which means it is almost impossible for these types to know what they care about.
Everything to them is about logicalness or effectiveness, rather than being important because it matter to them.
Which makes it very difficult for these guys to even conceive of approaches based on intuition and values (especially for ISTP).
Anyway, some typological gruel to snack on.
